Movie Review: Connie & Carla (2004)
Another film from the mind of writer/actress Nia Vardalos (writer/lead actress My Big Fat Greek Wedding). This time she's teamed with, in my estimation, the top Australian actress Toni Collette. Basically, they are two going-nowhere-fast lounge singers who witness a mob killing. They leave town in a hurry and in order to make ends meet in their new city they take up singing at a nightclub. The twist is that it's a drag queen club and they must pretend to be men pretending to be women. The whole setup with the mob is pretty weak but the movie is fun with great musical acts. David Duchovny has a nice little role as well. 7/10

Movie Review: Ocean's Eleven (2001)
I've heard the sequel is not all that hot but this was fun. I'm sure the cast had a great time making it. And what a cast. The movie is just your typical heist movie and while it doesn't do anything very innovative or original it doesn't aspire to do anything other than have a good time. 7/10

Movie Review: The Real Cancun (2003)
I think this was based on the MTV show called 'The Real Life' which tries to pass off 'unscripted' footage of young 20 somethings in a million dollar house as being 'real life'. Of course with all those cameras and the knowledge that millions of people could be watching you anything but real life ensues. This movie takes 12 young guys and gals to the beaches of Cancun for 1 week of 5 star waterfront accomodation, unlimited free booze, and access to daily parties, wet t-shirt contests, etc. I'm sure everyone has had this real Cancun experience, haven't you? Of course it boils down to people pairing off, fighting over stupid things and getting upset over even stupider things. 4/10
